Month of Written Devotion 8: Hope

IMG_0330I think of hope as a mini-prayer. Here are some of mine from yesterday:
I hope I catch my flight.
I hope there will be gluten-free food I can eat.

Hope can also be a wish for someone else:
I hope you have a happy birthday.
I hope you get home safely.

Hope can also be on a much bigger scale:
I hope we get more rain in California soon because the drought is so bad.
I hope to see the end of transgender discrimination in my lifetime.

Kuan Yin held out hope for the world when she chose to stay on Earth until the end of suffering of all people.

What do you hope for? How is hope for yourself different than your hopes for other people?
